The final digital workshop in the S-UMMATION project was held 25. October 2023.
The S-UMMATION project has followed the progress of the eight Nordic NBS pilot projects since early 2022, through interviews, a survey, meetings and workshops.
Discussing findings
The aim of the final workshop was to share insights based on the experiences from the pilot projects, as well as discuss and exchange experiences related to nature-based solutions (NBS). Four of the eight pilots were represented.
After a short introduction, S-UMMATION project leader Line Barkved presented some of the key insights and experiences reported by the pilot projects. the pilots were involved in the discussion on the following topics:
- Involvement and engagement
- Success factors and enabling mechanisms for nature-based solutions (NBS) projects
- Challenges and/or other factors to address for “NBS to scale”
Experience-based knowledge
The S-UMMATION project is not about evaluating the pilot projects, but rather to capture experience-based knowledge relevant for the field of nature-based solutions (NBS) and implementation of such actions.
The workshop provided inputs into the finalization of the S-UMMATION that will be published after the project ends in November 2023.
In the findings we particularly focus on common elements to the different pilots relevant for NBS development in the Nordics. Not all experiences and insights are common or equally relevant for all the pilots, as there often is not a one-size fits all, and we therefore also aim to bring forward some nuances in the report based on specific pilot experiences.
