Nordic NBS pilots, political debate and a rap battle was part of the program in the Nordic tent at the Norwegian democracy festival.

Arendalsuka is Norway’s largest annual political gathering or “democracy festival”.

On 14. August, the Nordic NBS programme held an event with the title “Nature-based solutions in the Nordics – holistic efforts for climate” (Naturbaserte løsninger i Norden – helhetlig innsats for klima).

The event focused on experiences from the eight NBS pilot projects funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and studied in the S-UMMATION project.

Two freestyle rappers from Rapolitics engaged the audience in their “rap-up” of the discussions.

Both the Norwegian and Icelandic pilots were represented at the event, together with NIVA scientists and the Nordic NBS programme.

It was a very nice experience and an opportunity to share more knowledge on nature-based solutions! We look forward to more engagement and discussions in the upcoming Nordic NBS conference in Malmö in September.
