The two Nordic handbooks on nature-based solutions (NBS) are now online!
The two projects A-DVICE (Advice for Policy Development to Implement, Mainstream and Upscale NBS in the Nordics) and GuideNBS (practical implementation of Nature-based solutions) have been working in parallel for the past 1,5 years to develop two Nordic handbooks for nature-based solutions (NBS).
The two handbooks are both digital and link to each other, but they have different angles and user-perspectives.
Policy advice to support NBS
The policy handbook created by A-DVICE is mainly for policy and decisionmakers on local, regional and national levels. It provides tips and examples on how to support the mainstreaming and upscaling of NBS in the Nordics through policies including laws and regulations, economic instruments, administrative practices and information and other voluntary instruments.

Practical toolbox for NBS implementation
The handbook for practical implementation of NBS includes guidance across six ecosystems: coastal areas, cultural landscapes, forests, mountains, urban areas, and wetlands. The handbook gives examples on planning, design, implementation, and operation of the nature- based solutions using lessons learned from other Nordic projects.
