“Whatever we do, we cannot do without nature”. This was the opening remark of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment, Florika Fink-Hooijer, at the event “The rise of nature-based solutions and the momentum of CBD COP15 – What’s next?”.

The event was held 16. March at the Norway House in Brussels, hosted by the Norwegian mission to the EU and The Nature Conservancy.

S-ITUATION leader Leonard Sandin (NINA) presented the main results from our project. Some preliminary results from the S-UMMATION project (led by Line Barkved, NIVA) were also included.

The Norwegian minister for climate and environment, Espen Barth Eide also participated. He highlighted the need for sustainable use of nature, so that future generations will have the same opportunities to enjoy nature as we do today.

He also wrote about this perspective in an opinion article in EuroNews.
